Hi
Im probably a week too late - have only just read thru the posts. Anyway - try your blower - if it only blows on full - then its the resistor pack. Its a common fault apperantly, my 9k ate two in six months and I now have a couple of spares that have found there way into my toolbox on breakers yard visits! Of course now Ive got spares, the current one will outlive the car! The resistor is attached to the side of the blower which is located behind the false bulkhead. Undo the bolts on the plastic cover at the back of the opened bonnet / hood , its located ( on mine anyway! ) to the right - feel around for the wiring connector. Unplug the connector and the resistor pulls out. I can send pics if you want them. I have seen resistors on ebay ( in the UK ) go for pennies. Hope this helps Paul |

Usually if a resistor pack blows, then what happens is that the fan will blow fine on full speed, but will not step down to the lower speeds.
2 questions... 1) Do you have AC or ACC? 2) Does the blower work at all at full speed settings If you have ACC, then there are a number of issues that could cause problems (including ACC control module), but the best way to check the blower would be a straight 12V feed to it. If it runs full with this, then the blower is fine, and the problem is else where. Take it logically, and use the search function on here to find possible answers. Kenneth |

well it only worked that one day for a few min. and it was on full now it won't work period. this is what leads me to believe there is a short somewhere.

If the ACC control unit has packed up, then you would get issues with the aircon not working at all, as it controls the speed of the blower automatically. If you do a search on here, you should find the key combination for the ACC test mode. If it passes that, then you really need to test the blower motor independantly of the ACC to make sure it's fine. If it passes that, then I'd start looking for shorts or broken cable, but until then start by checking the obvious. Kenneth |
