Default Therealet23 and others

Therealet23 requested information about my set up so i will post everything on the forum for future references....

this is my APC/BPC solenoid:

this is my MBC:

everything from the side:

everything from the top:

okay...this is how to set up an MBC inline with the APC/BPC solenoid:

the solenoid has 3 vacuum lines going to it....the top leads to the turbo, the middle leads to the wastegate, and the bottom is return air that goes to the intake.

take the middle line that goes to the wastegate and cut it in half...this is where the MBC is placed, in between the two hoses that you now have. I left the bottom of my MBC disconnected because you dont really need this air to go anywhere...you can tap into the bottom hose of the solenoid and route it there if you want to. Not neccessary in my opnion.

adjust the MBC to whatever boost level you like and think is safe.

thats about it for the install of a MBC. Enjoy.

Moving onto the BOV and Boost Guage:

this is where you tap into for you boost guage...one os for the boost guage and the other is for the BOV.

here is a pic of my a-pillar pod....its not in place yet so its just literally hanging in there for now....

i ran the vac line from the intake minifold, through the firewall, and up to the a-pillar through the side of the dash board and behind....same for the electricity to it, but those wiring came off my wiring for my LED's and neons and put onto a switch. Thats about it. Any questions, msg me.

okay...all that makes sense....but why do i need to use another vacuum line for the blow off valve...is the stock location not good? and which line is for BOV and which one is for boost gauge? or does it matter? also...what if i bought a mbc like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Voodo...64307473QQrdZ1

which hoses would i plug where?

there;

stongly suggest you read up on HOW an MBC does what it does, and why. Once you realize this, you'll fully grasp the way to hook it up. It's an INSANELY simple device -- Air in -> ballbearing -> spring (w/ adjustable tension) -> air out.

The more tension on the spring, the more PRESSURE (PSI/BAR) required to flow air out.... Hence, your adjustment.

Air intake from the compressor or another boost tap source (doesn't really MATTER where; some places have more issues/perks than others), air out to wastegate actuator.

Set device right below fuel cut. DO this by having VERY minimal pressure on the spring. Slowly adjust boost up (turn knob in, or whatnot) until you hit fuel cut. (Violent jerking) turn back a twist or so, and you're done.

WOW.

Quiute frankyly I've seen a bazillion DIRECT exact answers for your 'question'. Like I said earlier, you need to learn HOW this device works; then you'll understand how to install it and more importantly, how NOT to damage your car...

I gave a step by step; others have as well with pictures.

There is no 'exact' way to install this device; different methods have different perks/downsides; but many many variations on how to install.

If you think this is complicated, you should see my setup with an 'anticipator' aspect as well; two devices, more hoses, y connectors and new boost taps all over -- Easy to install IF you get the underlying concepts.... Best of luck.
