early and late C900 headlamp glass compatability

Is the glass for a headlamp in a post 87 car the same as the glass for a flat fronted pre 87 car?
Holding them up to each other with one in the car they look similar. Is the slopyness of the later one done by using a different plastic housing or a different glass? (or both?)

Typically i have atleast 3 sets of spare flat fronted headlights and i now need a facelifted slopey one - it would be nice if i could just swap a glass accross from one of them!

No the sloped units are quite a bit smaller(in height) that the flat nose ones, there is no difference in the front end it's just the front spoiler/bumper grill lights and indicators which are different.
