I just got done changing my water pump (thanks to everyone that gave me advice on that) and now I realize a certain coolant hose connector is leaking water very slowly. However I don't see what is wrong with it.
Here is a picture. http://bfndevelopment.com/cgi-bin/ho...I_937_9172.jpg http://bfndevelopment.com/cgi-bin/ho...I_937_9171.jpg ![]() Is it missing a clamp? Do I need a new connector? |

I believe the plastic piece is the Restrictor. It may be crumbling due to age, and not sealing properly.
You seem to have all the clamps in place; but it looks like the hoses are original! If so, they could well be the problem; replace them with the less costly (Australian-made) Mackay items from www.eeuroparts.com. |

it does look like you're missing a clamp in http://bfndevelopment.com/cgi-bin/h...dI_937_9170.jpg - but I agree that your hoses look more than a bit tired as well. I'd replace the constrictor - cannot recall which car it was - but I had one fall apart while trying to replace a heater hose - might have been the old (and gone) STS -

I looked at the catalog of the saabsite, and noticed that his piece looks very much like the heater bypass valve, what do you guys think?

Yep, it was a heater valve from a 91-94. I guess somebody changed it during the lifetime of the car. I put the new part on and I noticed that the old part had a broken seal.
