I recently prurchased a 1991 900i and when I filled up the tank, I noticed that the cabin has a petrol smell that was not there before. I would appreciate any advice on what may be the cause??

This is a classic problem, searching will always help!! http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/sh...ht=filler+neck I ended up simply plugging the hole for the spill tube. |

Gas cap is the most common cause of gas smell, although there are 583 other causes.
Can you trade caps with someone for a day or two? |

Thanks for the response and the direction. I have found a few different threads in different places in regards to this issue and now will be proceeding in sniffer dog mode to find the cause. I'll just have to start at one end and work my way through the system. I will let you know when I find it.
