Default Its Snowing in March! is uber slippy ;)

What a night, it started snowing at 1.30am and its now 5.23am its been snowing all this time and its piling up pretty high, my Sky reception was lost, i went to move my car as i live in a T junction and i dont want to get slammed and all the cars including me are having a hard time getting traction, braking and moving off, one BMW started rolling back down a hill towards me, luck he slide into me at 1mph

This is the slippest snow i have ever driven on, its not regular snow, i know that sounds dumb but i think there are a few types of snow and this stuff is like silky flakes.

I blame GW, i blame me really

Its beautiful but dangerous, i moved my car to the back of the church, lol.

The daft part is my engine was getting to hot at 90 degrees C! there was no cold air getting into the engine as i was driving at 4 to 10mph.

It's been snowing a bit here lately. Not like that though.

On the way to work yesterday I saw snow, hail, sleet, rain, sunshine, and all at the same time for a minute. It was nuts.

We usually don't remove our snow tires until mid-April...A few years ago We had an April Fools Day blizzard that socked us with 18 inches of snow...

Oh come on Sha, it's not that bad I'm posting from work, after a cheeky wee 22 mile drive. Saw 5 accidents. O/T is a great motivator.
It's really wet snow, great for snowballs, but not so good for your tyres to cut through. There're a lot of places with a layer of ice frozen underneath as well.
You should get out and see how high you can get the speedo to go while you're still going at under 30

Snowed here as well. First time that it has really settled since I moved here nearly four years ago.

Hi from a snowy Scotland
God, what a night, we ended up with 18" in drifts, i was never out of the Volvo L120 for 7 hours, it was a nightmare at work and then i had the drive home!, the V6's TCS was a lifesaver, i pulled 4 cars out of the works car park, before i gave up and headed for home,i managed to get within 100 yards of the house before getting beached with the front end of the car sitting 2" above the road, i phoned my work when i got up and there are still 60 men of my shift stuck there. .
Now for some pictures, the Griffin is centre and the V6 CSE is the first car you can see going down the road, and yes my garden is that high

My road junction is a ice ring, the snow is 10 inchs and its gonna snow so more tonight! it was no even cold, silly weather but it looks cool.

There is a big pile of snow infront of this guy, he aint going anywhere

This camera is a Sony DSC-V1, it's cheap with lots of manual over rides on everything which I need really, it was so dark last night and now it squintingly bright

That's the last time I'm gonna be cheeky about snow... See this posting here.

Well, the Vale of Leven has most certainly had snow overnight - about 15 inches worth in certain areas, and I've certainly had my fun with the 9000 in the snow. I have to admit to be rather impressed with it's handling in the snow - i was worried 'cause it's an auto - but it handled it just fine. ABS was great - I could slow coming off the A82 Alexandria bypass, and do so without skidding.

Ah well, pity I've lost the digicam or I would have taken some pictures. Hope everybody is OK given the conditions - and it feels like the thaw has started already.

Kenneth

Boy was my big Volvo L120 fun last night, a lot of the forklifts got stuck last night, and some of them the only way to get them out, was to go into the rear of them and put the 8 ton bucket over the top of them, down the front of the mast and pull them out, the look on their faces is priceless, one of them got completely beached in a snow drift and i just scooped the forklift up inside the bucket and took it back to the road, then drove it out of the bucket back on to the road, the four wheel drifts you can get in it are awesome, put it on to full lock, foot the floor and it pirouette round and round, then pick your exit point, put on the diff locks and of it shoots without a hint of wheel spin, one of the drivers just about wet himself laughing at me as he could not even stand up on the ice and snow.

The snow and seriously cold wind put paid to any work outside today so I stayed indoors and watched a fantastic GP and have just finished watching the best game on one day cricket that I have ever seen. Feel sorry for the Aussies, after posting the highest ever one day total, they then lose by one wicket off the penultimate ball of the game.

Finally this evening is the A1GP race from Leguna Seca

It wasn't so bad, was only really hated when the world cup was on. I think 'foreign' girls get off easier than the blokes.

Some simple tips to avoid issues in Glasgow

1. Don't call everyone "Jock"
2. England shirts are not a good plan
3. And stop asking people what they wear under their kilt.
4. Don't call kilt's "skirts"

If you follow these, you should be OK
