Default Broken Front Spoiler - DIY repair???

On a recent ski trip (Seven Springs in PA), I drove into a large rock hidden by snow while parking. The result is a broken front spoiler. I don't see other damage to the bumper. I took the car for 30K mile service and asked for an estimate to get this piece replaced (it's beyond repair).

The estimate came to $346. The cost breakdown: $201 for the spoiler, $100 to get it painted, and $45 for 1/2 hour labor. I won't complain about the install labor but the other costs just seem rather high. I'm just looking to save some $$$ if I can do it myself reasonably well.

Paintscratch.com has the proper basecoat and clearcoat for $35.90 in a spraycans.

I found the part at a couple of different places online:

Saabpartsonline.com - 137.55 shipped
saabsite.com - 158.10

Both sites listed this as Part #45-64-571, but saabsite also had another # 400132643. To futher confuse the issue, the service manager had an entirely different part # 5491535 listed in the estimate.

Car is a 2003 9-5 Aero in Steel Grey metallic. Which part should I be looking for? Also does anyone have any feedback on these e-retailers or other sources for this part?

If anyone has experience with this repair, any insights or learnings would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I painted and fitted my own Aero lip spoiler to my SE, its really quite straight forward, and looked fine.

Its this part yes? http://www.partsforsaabs.com/product...roducts_id=219

If so your prices seem very good

I know a number of us had troubles getting parts or responses from Saabpartsonline. I have not ordered from these guys, but they seem to have it at about the same price.

Slight concern that they are showing a 9-3 in the pic though (or is it a 900?)...

I need a new spoiler, do you think painting a new one is a diy project and does anybody have any suggestions for a good quality and slightly easy way to paint it.

I would be pretty damn tempted to just leave the thing unpainted. Then again, i have a black car...

yea why would you do that, the primer coat is a gray color it would look ridiculous; I want to paint it black and put clear coat over it.
