i've always been hesitant to wash my car with a car brush (the ones that almost look like a broom)...but does anyone have any real experiences with them? i have a black car, so i know i should be more careful, but living in an apartment during the winter time makes it pretty hard to keep my car clean. i've found that the end of the bristles seem pretty soft, and it would seem that dirt would just as easily get locked in between them. i've read up on car care websites and know that most professionals prefer a lamb's wool mit, but i've never seen any real reviews or comparisons on the brush.

Use a micro fober mitt... Better than lambswool. Bushes will make minute scratches.

Please Please Please don't use a brush on your paint. You might not be able to see it but a brush will make very fine scratches into it. Stick with a microfiber or lambs wool mitt.

No brushes! (or bushes) While you are at it Klasse All In One as a base coat for waxing. Great stuff!

There's still nothing like a Brillo Pad for those tough bug stains.

I just slip into one of these and wriggle around on the paintwork for a while.

How do you get rid of 5 years of previous owners use of car washes???
Metallic finish with clear top coat - so "t-cut" is out

Just to make sure nobody is 'stupid' enough to use yard brush I came home and found our 900T convertible with a badly scratched bonnet. Turned out the wife was pushing the 4" of snow off the bonnet and didn't realise the screw holding the brush head on was sticking out!!
