I check the curb weight on saab's site and was suprised to find that both vehicles weighed approximately the same. I was always under the impression that the combi, being a wagon, weighed quite a bit more, thereby making it a bit slower. Is this right, that both weigh the same and are equally as fast?

I think it's an error on their website. I recall seeing elsewhere that it weight 300 lbs over the regular sedan weight. That much weight to the back made the distribution closer to 50-50, so the handling is supposedly more neutral with the SportCombi. Closer to 50-50...still FWD...definitely a slower car.

Well ... strange as it may seem ... the GM Media site also lists the Combi and Sedan/Saloon as having the same weight ranges & the Combi having a 60/40 distribution while the Sedan is 53/47

Edmunds:
"Saab says the SportCombi is still 90 pounds heavier than its sedan counterpart" |
