people bad mouthing cars

yesterday,a classmate refered to my car as "the red POS, with the silver hood"
I said if he ever refered to my car like that ever agiain he would be seriously hurt, and I mean it. Sure I may bad mouth my car on this forum, It only appears to be a POS is because someone crashed into it! However someone calling my Car a POS after all the time I have spent getting it back together. You don't Spend a lot of time and money in a junkyard to get an exhaust for a POS Most POS cars can't burn the tires,mine can if I punish my car. Do POS cars top out well above 100MPH?!? Do POS cars have nice interiors? NO!!! My car is not a POS. then the a55hole said it would look better if the hood was painted body color or "the back matched the front". Hello dickweed, the hatch is silver! Then he said, don't worry about it, you can drive a nicer car latter in life. I practically growled at him and said, It is a project car that I enjoy driving and will enjoy driving it for years to come while I make improvements on it.

If he had said those things outside,rather than in a classroom.His nose would be broken among several other things

Take a deep breath and calm down, brother. I understand exactly what you are feeling and saying. There is no need to get worked up over this. You cannot control what others think, only what you think. If you like and enjoy the car, then that is all that matters. If others fail to appreciate what you are doing, it is their failing not yours. What they (who are uninformed of its virtues) think about you and your car is simply irrelevant.It is background noise. It sounds like you have a master plan for car. Focus on that and make the dream reality. Your best revenge is to derive even greater enjoyment by making a fine car better and having the satisfaction of making that happen. Who is worse off, the fool, or the man who insists on arguing with the fool?

Here's what you do... Leave them painted as is... Take the money you would spend on the paint and put it into performance... Kindly invite him to the local track.
If he says no, tell him to borrow his sister's POS toyota if he thinks it's faster than his POS.

gearhead...what do you care? let people talk their talk, so long as you are happy with your car at the end of the day. of course i drive a newer car, but i could really care less if someone calls my car a POS...the fact remains, for the amount of money i spent on my car, i'm happy driving it. sure, when school's over and money starts coming in, it's gone. i've had enough FWD and no limited slip. as far as POS cars not able to reach well above 100 mph, have nice interiors, etc...there are plenty. i'd consider an old chevy camaro IROC a POS, but it would beat the pants off of my car. also, the argument about nice interiors is relative to each. i'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would beg to differ with you. i'm not knocking your car, just saying MOST people don't want the same flavor as you do...otherwise they'd be driving a saab, right? you don't owe anyone anything for what you drive (besides borrowed money), so let them talk their ish.

I used to get laughs, stares, bad remarks, insults, ect when I would drive around my c900 convertible. The thing did look like a POS - it had primer everywhere, there was no trim, no bumper extensions, and i kinda ran like ****. After sorting out the issues (new motor, totally reworked body and paint as well as some 16" super aero wheels) all I got was compliments! People I didn't know what stop and tell me I had a nice car. I never let the sh**y comments bother me because I knew what it would eventually look like!

Dude, go take a chill pill. Most of my mates drive German cars, BMW, Audi or Vw's. They say my car looks and is cr@p ( Abbott tuned 2.0 9-5 with '04 Aero Bumper). Now, I realy dont care, becuase, i would leave them for dust in a race. Also, its my car, not theirs. It brings me bundles of happiness and joy. I bought my car becuase I wanted to be different and have something that is less common on the road then the ever so "popular" 3 series. So dont worry if one silly DumbWit thinks your car is a POS. He obviusly doesnt know any better, Just smile and say...Ok mate, you keep thinking that

Instead of getting angry at him, you should feel sorry for him for being such a jackass Trust me . . . it is not easy to go through life being a jackass These people are genuinely handicapped.
