Northwest UK Rolling Road Day

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is purely speculative - just trying to get some idea of possible numbers, and an idea of the most suitable location (shortest journey for all).....

Who would be interested in attending a Rolling Road day in the Northwest (Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Crewe etc)

If this falls flat on its ***, no matter..... at least I wil have tried
There have been some for other regions recently, but none that I have seen in the NW

I could be interested depending on what happens with the next Ipswich one, i think Liverpool is slighly closer than Ipswich aswell so a little more convenient for me.

When abouts are you thinking as i'm gonna be buisy with my house for a few weeks and also need to do some car maintenance.

So i guess i am a maybe .

Count me in just to make up the numbers, although where do you have in mind. I struggled to find a rolling road Liverpool last year. Used that one out at Widnes but he wasn't to helpful.

I'd be up for a rolling road day, Some point in March perhaps?? as we have the Midlands Meet 12th Feb, and Raggy and Angua hosting the NG900 breaking weekend for MrsH at some point at the end of feb

I didnt really have a specific time in mind.... altho it seems that the back end of Feb into March seems to be most favoured.....

I just had a reply from a Dr at Liverpool University... they have a rolling road somewhere on campus that would have been ideal, but he very humbly turned me down on the grounds of University bosses never agreeing, or getting insurance

I'll keep looking.

Matthew mentioned a good one in N Wales, but that area is to be avoided like the plague, on account of all the "safety" measures...... camaras to you and me!

Eyes are too close together; mind the old saying, to catch one you need to set one.

For this meet is there anything in or around Chester? I do not know the area to well, my thoughts is that to keep the venue near a trunk road that is accessable from all ends of the UK.

In principal I may be in, I'll soon need a rolling road run, not so much for peak power but to measure the exhuast gas under high load, I don't know whether a superchip 2.5 ecu will adapt the fuelling curve to 3.0 or not and the rollers with gas analysis is the safest way to find out.

apologies for the delays, i have been dedicating some time to my beloved VWBug and getting stressed at work

after a gruelling search of the interweb, i have the following possible venues

These are all I have been able to come up with so far (ANORAK - looked into DemonTweaks and they use Balmuir in Wrxham)

I have only managed to contact the GTiStore for vague prices, and a one off session is around £60+GordonsTax , while a group session can drop to around £30-40+vat. I can only assume that this is around the same price for the others as well.
I will update as I get through to them

Is everyone still interested? Give me some ideas of dates and I will sort something out

I could probably be persuaded to organise a bit of an 'evening' for those in no particular rush to go home if it ends up being there. It's been a while since we had a Sheffield meet

I'd happily do Stockport or Manchester though..

I would definetaly be interested. My Saab is totally stock, but I would love to see what others have done to theirs. I have used the one in Bury for other jobs on my other cars, they sometimes have nice looking cars parked up outside. They are about 1 mile off the M60, and seemed a fairly clued up bunch of guys and they have a fair size shop upstairs, although quite a lot of their stock seemed to be aimed towards the fast and furious end of the market.

Never done a Sheffield meet, though I've seen the aftermaths on here

OK I don't mind running the old grey bus along for laughs, prior to ecu correction to see what a direct swap has done for my cars output, so as long as it's not to far off the beaten track in and around Chesterfield and I'm not doing something with 'she who has a whippy crop' then I'm in.

Chesterfields great, it's like 1970's prices up there, you get a taxi across town for £1.50 and last time i was there (a few months ago) i'm sure beer was under £2 a pint.
