OK all you 900 boffins.............i need to know the cc's of the 16v turbo and non-turbo injectors, bosch only. I am looking for injectors around the 260-280 cc mark for my '99 project turbo killer'

Hi,
If you mean the Red injectors then i believe they are 305cc,30Ib per hour, you can get the green top injectors which i think are 405cc, i have blue injectors and i dont know what the hell they are |

be sure to get the right ohm range injectors as well. a low impedance injector will cook an ECU designed to run on a high impedance injector.

DeLorean - that's a massive list!
But guess what - they still don't list the specs on the injectors from my 900 Carlsson. I'm never going to find out what spec they are!!! The Lucas 5720 A 510 They list the Lucas 5720 A 520 but say that is for a chevy v8 5.0L and don't say if it's low or high impedance. |

the injectors on the 91 9000-turbo are the same way. they are lucas injectors, but I could only find their spec listed in one place and it was not that site... turns out the 91 9000-T uses a #38 injector! that's quite massive. I think some of the lower production cars injectors may not be listed on that site, however most cars you find in the junk yard you will be able to look the injectors up using that list.

My car is a 1990 - can you remeber if they were black injectors with a green band around the middle? Those are the ones I have sitting here on my desk.
They aren't the same as the T16 injectors as far as I know. I could be wrong but I had a 1992 T16 vert and that had IIRC orange injectors. |

do you know what year Carly it was? Did you do the swap? Did you see the car it came from? i.e. are you sure it's a Carlsson engine and that the injectors wern't changed so they would be compatible with the ECU on your car?
Would be interesting to know which injectors you have if your sure it was from a carlsson. I have the injectors out of my carlsson sitting here on my desk but as I say, no idea what spec they are. |

IIRC the lucas injectors from ´90 have a green band 5720A510 and flow around 260 cc/min Which is a little more than the lucas injectors from 91-93 787235 with an orange band. think flow is 220cc/min. I just tried to find precise specs but I can´t. Sorry. Its taken from my poor memory and shouldn´t be treated as a fact. Cheers Svante |

The Carlsson uses a 3.0 bar fuel pressure regulator and runs .85 bar of boost as standard so if your figures are similar then go for it. Remember injectors work best if wide open throttle runs the injector at no more than 85% of it's capacity (you can push them further, but a manufacturer would never push the injectors to 100%)

Lucas injectors on CU14 flow 27lb/hr. Bosch injectors on LH2.2 flow 21lb/hr. There'll be a lb/hr --> cc conversion formula around somewhere.

Are these the same type your talking about Ejenn?
I double checked after this thread and my injectors have the green band, not blue like i thought. These look like the original ones to me.

yes those are the lucas injectors fitted to at least some Lucas FPT's. Would be interesting to know which models came with those injectors and full specification of the injectors as well.

All Lucas FPT and LPT cars came with those injectors.
Resistance at 20°C (68°F): 2.0 - 2.8 ohms Delivery flow: 108 - 132 ml/30s That's injector data from the Saab CU14 service manual.

The Lucas CU14 injectors are low impedance, while the Bosch LH injectors are high impedance.
