coupl of questions??

1-I changed my radiator yesterday and the problem is the fan cuts in only when it gets near to the red part of the dial,i am worried,changed the temp switch on the rad,but makes no difference,any ideas would be helpful.

2-i have a bov fitted on the car and noticed it was opened,could this lead to bad idle/cutting out?? please help

1. Check the wiring. Refit the old thermoswitch and check the wiring. Try bridging the switch contacts and check that the fan comes on.
