Transmission ECM upgrade and other observations

I recently had my 2003 9-5 in for its three year scheduled maintenance. I heard about the ECM upgrade and inquired about it. They performed this service and I also switched over to full synthetic oil at this time. I have always been happy with the car's performance, but now it's incredible. The car runs like a "bat out of hell".While at the dealership I looked at new sport combi and the 9-5. The sport combi is perfect. The only fault on the 9-5 is the questionable grill layout.Both however in the current car market are excellent values compared to the other European brands. I have owned or driven every model of Japanese car there is and what they all lack is CHARACTER. After three years of ownership I still get a kick out of driving my Saab. It still feels and drives like a brand new car. The only two cars that I really enjoy driving in my price range are the BMW and the Saab. With a $15- 20,000 price difference between the two, it was an easy decision for me. I did drive a used BMW 740i that was very tempting and in my opinion the nicest car I've driven, but it was three years old and had over 40,000 miles on it and was still $8,000 more than my new Saab. I like to buy new cars, maintain them properly, and keep them at least 10 years. So far, this formula has worked for me with no major repairs or breakdowns. I hope to keep this Saab for a good 15 years because it is the first car that I have become attached to.

I agree, i have never owned the same car as long as I have this one, and maybe in 15 years it will be paid for

this is my second saab, both built like a tank and will run forever if serviced properly. have owned for 3.5years and will keep it for another 2/3 at least
