i think eric's site has something on a mod to add additional pressure on the clamp to further reduce torque steer. this mod would have complemented the DIY brace i made until i snapped the bolt hooking the brace to the wheel well

Why do you need to remove the fuse box? The clamp goes on the other side of the steering rack, farthest from the fuse box. If you must take it out, there's a 10mm black plastic nut that has to be removed, and then you'll have to pry up the clip under the weatherstripping with a very small flat-bladed screwdriver. Once you've pried the clip loose a half dozen times, it will come off without any tools at all.
