Hi all,
Just found this page when I was surfing: http://www.netma.fi/jouko/saab/performance2.html Some really interesting stuff there! First of all, he said he got a BSR APC upgrade promising 230 bhp. That can't be right, surely? I thought APC mods generally saw 20-30bhp up on standard? Anybody got any experience of these? Secondly, I read up on water injection. Looks really interesting. Cooler inlet temperatures = denser air = more boost = free hp Thirdly, air intake. I gather the c900 setup is poor, but is there any way to improve it without chopping holes in the car? Same goes for the i/c. Want to upgrade this on mine with an FMIC, but without chopping the towing hooks or losing the air con. I remember chatting with Matt Faulks about this a while back and there is a solution, but I forget what it was. Maybe getting an i/c made up? Or perhaps a standard c900 i/c up front (is it the width that means you have to chop the car?). Fourthly, chipping the Fuel ECU? Benefits? Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Anybody got any thoughts on this? My car is standard in the engine dept at the moment, but looking for solid reliable and useable performance. Plans so far : Faulks Performance APC upgrade JT 3" exhaust (with elbow if I can sort out the usual battery problem) ?FMIC ?Water injection At the moment I want 200-210 bhp but driveable, hopefully should be doable without spending too much! |

IC upgrade with APC tweak should get you in the region of 200.
The JT downpipe would also help and depending on your view point sticking on a large K&N may or may not help. Can't remember what year your car is but if you have the Lucas injection gubbins your half way there - 3 Bar FPR, larger injectors etc. |

Your car will have a 3.0bar FPR.
Trent Saab used to supply and fit a series of mods for 220BHP. Agey's Ruby is Trented and it's awesome to drive A decent custom FMIC (£400-500 fitted) would probably negate the need for water injection. That with a Trent/BSR-spec APC would make for a sweet ride.
