Nope, she's given all she's got, captain!
Seems it rusted out, rattled the matting loose and now is, well, evacuating it... you should hear a different note on your exhaust too. On the up side, it's not that hard to replace a muffler. I did a cat-back in about two hours; probably could do it in half that time next time.

My wife loved driving her <gasp> cutlass ciera w/out muffler when it dropped off on the way from Brooklyn to NJ (hmm, Brooklyn seems to be always involved in my muffler issues) and actually complained when I put a new one in! Do pay attention and make sure the fiberglass mat does not plug your exhaust as it is pushed out of the system... a wire hanger makes a handy tool to remove it from the tail pipe (don't ask how I know Enjoy the throaty exhaust note until next inspection! PS. The muffler is under $ 60.

My middle resonator broke (Non CAT) so i replaced that with a stright pipe and so i only had the rear box and tail pipe, this was a nice balance between sound level and sound character but i had to get another resonator which i added at the rear, so it looks like a nice health exhaust, its matt black so it looks much smaller than it really is. I really like to have a quite exhaust that allows fast gas flow, so when i over take some hot hatch they think i am not even trying Last edited by ShadowWorks; 04-07-05 at 05:05 PM. |
