I drove the Linear Model last week and my wife and our family were thoroughly impressed. Odered my Arc on friday and it will be here within 3 weeks. I've read a lot of hand wringing about GM's involvement in this car, but as someone who was about to buy a BMW, this car is GREAT!!!! We are getting the Arc with a Moonroof and they are adding the DVD player to it at the dealer. Black with tan leather seats, very nice appearance. Plus I was able to use my GM Supplier Employee Discount for 2,400 off of sticker. Tell me a car that rides this nice with Standard everything: Xenon Headlamps, XM Satellie Radio, OnStar, Moonroof, Heated seats etc for this price, and free maintenance for 3 years, You really have to drive this to appreciate how good it is.

Just an addendum to my previous post. SAAB's June promotion allows GM Supplier Employees to purchase th 97X at the GM Employee price. Hence my discount now goes from 2,400 to 4,600 on this 97X Arc. WOW

btw, I just read on carconnection that GM will be extending employee pricing to *everyone* for the month of June on 2005 models, so that should include 9-7x. |

Does anyone know what the actual employee price is? The GM site just says see dealer for price.

Yes I do. I have the invoice from the dealer right here. For a Linear with a list price of 38,990 which includes Destination, the GM Affiliated Employee price is 34,472

Yes it will probably be about 2,000 more. I'll know for sure when our car gets delivered. i will also find out how much they charge to install the DVD player on a unit that comes in with a Moonroof

Can you explain that? Are you saying that anyone and everyone will get the same pricing as GM Employees? Or is it just for GM employees and suppliers? I ordered my 9-7x back in February and am still waiting for delivery. While I will reserve judgement on the vehicle until I have driven it (and so should everyone else) the "delivery experience" has been a little trying. Originally, Saab gave my dealer a delivery date of 3/24. That came and went with little other information given. Try as the dealer might (he and his sales manager are good friends) they could not get a definitive delivery date on the vehicle. Finally, last week, they found that the vehicle had reached Massachusetts. Today, a week later, it is still not in the showroom and no one at GM/Saab can tell them when it will be. In an age when Fedex and UPS can track one package out of millions and tell the consumer exactly where their package is and when it will arrive, its kind of frustrating that GM/Saab can't put their finger on when they will make delivery on one of only a few thousand vehicles. I'm sure it will be worth the wait, but management could put a little more emphasis in sharing information with the dealers and their customers, especially those that jumped in and ordered the vehicles long before their release date. Anyone else have a similar lament? |

Any idea how that program will work with leasing? I am leasing the 9-7x, and they already had a pretty good program. The fully loaded 9-7 Arc was just over $600/month which is lower than I pay for my 9-5 Aero Wagon.
I would expect the program to impact the lease figure, as the acquisition cost of the vehicle drops. |

i got my aero for 5% below " dealer invoice" as a family member - you also get all current incentives on top of the employee price - i got a total of approx. $6500US off MSRP - this was a year ago. Ed

Hey Doc,
Good luck with the new vehicle. I'm curious as to what you paid - I want to make sure the dealer passed on the complete employee discount. Mine was roughly $37k. I thought that a bargain as I paid more for my 9-5 Aero Wagon. I added the rear mud flaps and the "assist steps" I thought it added a nice touch - and it helps get kids, seniors, and dogs in and out easier. Ken W. |

Ken,
I paid 36,223 plus the cost of the DVD Player, (I have both a sunroof and DVD Player on my Arc.) Drove it home last night. Unbelievably nice!!!! We supposedly got the first Arc in the Ohio Kentucky and Indiana region. The ride, the sound system, all of the features were great. love the look of the Arc in black with the wheels |

The DVD cost about1,800 and is exactly like the factory one. I have taken several of my co-workers on test drives around the city and everyone has been extremely impressed by the ride (and what I paid relative to what I got)
