Default In the UK?

http://www.saabusa.com

Just had a glance at the 9-7x on the Saab USA maindealer website. Looks very nice (particularly the interior) and definitely a Saab from every angle.

Is it something we can expect on these shores or is it a US thing only?

Obviously we won't be getting it for £22,000 though!

according to most reports, no.

You get the TDi, we get the fuel eating beast.

9-7X and 9-2X, I believe, are US only vehicles.

Typical!

It's not like SUV's don't sell in this land! Being from Surrey, the morning's around here are a positive sea of abandoned X5's, Amazon's, Range Rover's, Cherokee's, Cayenne Turbo's, Patrol's and Shogun's, whilst the ladies drop off a single child to the local school.

Shame, with Saab's reputation and renowned quality product, I'm sure they'd be on to a winner.

You Brits aren't good enough for our glorified Trailblazer.

j/k everyone

I don't understand why they don't wanna sell them in the UK, you've got the be the biggest market for SUVs after us. Also don't know why they won't sell the 9-2X there. GM tis stupid.

The 9-2x and 9-7x are easy revenue enhancers, quick and cheap to design. Every one of them sold is nearly pure profit given the low development costs of Saabifying the Impreza and the TrailBlazer.

Converting the two to RHD would cost money. In fact, is any variant of the TrailBlazer platform available in the UK? It may not have been designed for a RHD variant at all, and thus nearly impossible to switch over.

However, the replacements for the 9-2x and 9-7x will be designed with Saab in mind from the start, and I'll bet those will be exportable to the UK without much difficulty.

They sell the Impreza in the UK...so I bet they are more marketting reasons than anything. Though w/ the high Euro to $ you'd hink they'd make plenty of $$ on the 9-7x.

The Impreza doesn't have a diesel and neither does the 9-7x. That's why Saab didn't want to sell them in Europe since most of their sales now come from diesel models.

I can see new bumper stickers now on American highways: "DIESEL ..... the other non-renewable energy source"

LOL!

The 90+ pence for a litre of petrol doesn't really help the Trailblazer's cause either!

Oddly, US cars don't sell that well over here. The suspension isn't really set up for our roads.
