I just read the May issue of UK's car mag CAR, in it there's a two-page spread of an interview with Car-Peter Forster, the new boss of GME who now assumes direct responsibility over Opel and Saab. He re-iterated Saab's new global strategy of growing the brand with short-term, stop-gap products like the 9-2X/9-6X/9-7X and going back to Saab's aviation-inpired design roots. He also hinted strongly at discontinuing the 9-2X and replacing it with a new 9-1 that is based on the hot Vauxhall Astra. It appears all future models will be sold globally, no more of the North America-only products like the current 9-2X/9-7X suite.
Anyone able to get a link to this article ? |
