Now that I've started to sand down and respray my car, everything else is starting to look a little shabby.... someone should have warned me this would happen!
My dash has 2 cracks (Yesterday they were invisible and today they are as obvious as the King Canyon). The damage is most likely due to sun and UV. Is it possible to repair insitu or do I need to replace the dash? Is it possible to get a carpet-type dash mat for Saab 900s??? Many thanks in Advance Rosie & Ruby Saabina 83 and her 83 Saab |

I'm sure you could get a carpet type cover for it - it should be possible to get one tailor-made if necessary. There are hard covers that fit over the top which are a lot cheaper than a whole new dash, but I don't know how good (or bad) they look. They come up on Ebay sometimes, apparently.

If you're keen on thoroughly revamping the car's appearance, then your best best is to source a mint condition dashboard top. Scrapyards would be the first place I'd look, and I doubt you'd pay very much for a good one.
Then buy a sun shield so that the new dashboard doesn't crack |
