I would say:
1.check blow bypass valve bpc.
2.check serpentine belt idler pulley (bearings go on these).

bypass valve is not the same as bpc. the bypass valve is the black thing coming off of the delivery pipe with a tube leading back to the turbo inlet pipe, the BPC is the black thing with three hoses and an electrical thing coming out of it. can you be more specific about this screech?

Default I may have a similar thing

At around 80mph (happens in 4th and 5th gear), I hear a screech, which sounds like its coming from right in front of me. The car is bone stock with 80k, so I don't think the bov is already going out on me. Plus, its does not happen under only hard acceleration. The bizare thing is: The sound always hits at the same spot, but if I drive at just under the screeching speed, the problem moves itself to a higher speed....ex:
screech speed - 80mph
accelerate from 70 -80 (screeches at 80 everytime)
drive at 78-79 for 10 minutes
new screech speed is 95 or so.

It was a long drive from DC to Denver. Now that I'm back home, the sound now hits around 80. Anyone have any thoughts?

for Encore i'd bet money it's the bypass valve (or another part of the bypass system). could be wrong, so i'll only bet $0.05 Froelich... not so sure. Encore said his noise is after letting off the gas after heavy acceleration, so that's what leads me to bypass system, but Froelich's sounds like it happens while driving at a constant speed....

LOFL!!!! yeah i've had that happen too... it's weird. i was on the interstate with a modded C900 and a WRX STi (both friends) at 120-125mph when that happened...blue lights in the mirror...

turned out it was the state police and an ambulance looking for an EMS call! we saw the lights and slowed down way before they got to us and they just blew on by... i had to change my shorts after that...

So they were way behind....I was going to wonder how they'd keep up! My buddy's dad is a statie, and his Crown Vic tops out at about 135. But he says it takes forever to get up there. Just so you guys know....
