Hi All,
on the test drive for the car i like,, 2.0 turbo the abs light came on when i did a brake test. it stayed on until i turned off the ignition.. if the abs is not working.. whats the worst case cost to have it fixed?? will it pass mot with duff abs are ther known probs/ quick fixes for this?? re cam chain issue from earlier post the sound is more like a dry bearing type sound.. similar to an alternator type whirr i thought it was waterpump/tensioner,,but when you get your head close to the rocker box it sounds like the front camshft has a dry bearing(the end where the w/pump is) it could almost be described as a rumble type sound) does this give any more ideas as to the problem matt (early morning insomniac) (not sure whether to go ahead and purchase cos of the above) am i a pessamist or just unwilling to gamble.. |

Unles this car is being given away, I'd pass on it and look for another. The ABS could be cheap, but could be expensive, and if you are in any doubt at all as to the condition of the bearings, I personally would walk away as it could indicate a poorly-maintained engine. There must be other 2.0Ts around.
Just my 2p's worth.
