Ive heard of them, and almost got them... They didnt seem like that bad of a tire. How does the price compare to the kumho 712? Those are supposed to be some of the best cheapo performance tires...

price is within 5 dollars per set....i have heard mixed reviews about the kuhmo's bad tread wear and really noisy. treadwear i can deal with because they are going to be summer tires but noisy tires i cannot stand.

My brother ran some nitto neogens on his jetta 1.8t and when they wore out he got some kumho 712s, he said there is no comparison to the higher priced nittos... the kumhos are much stickier.. and on the same note also better than a set of pirellis my vw friend had. (go for the kumho!) just my $.02

I just asked in a thread a few days ago about the Kumhos, they seemed to like them. I proced them out, and they seemed reasonable. I will most likely be getting these in a month or two.

I'll chime in on this one. I just put on the Kumho ECSTA HP4 716 about 2000 miles ago and I love them! They are much better than the Michelin's I had on, but to give the michelins a fair shot, they were mostly worn out when I got the tire. I didn't get the performance version (summer ones) since I now live in Portland and noise is VERY important! (people put studded snow tires on around here and destroy the roads!) They are very nice. Bought them at thetirerack.com and have been very happy. For 41 bucks a tire, you won't be dissapointed. Are they high performance? No. But I don't think anybody would argue that either are our Saabs (at least not stock). They are good tires for what thats worth. They also have the highest noise and comfort rating on thetirerack. I can compare them to my Yokohamas on the other car and these are far better. (Yoks are getting old and will be replaced by more of these soon)

Good tire at the right price. Pay for slow shipping, have walmart put them on for 50 bucks, you can't go wrong!

wow 50 bucks, every place that has quoted me has been like 100+ i decided to not get the essenza because everybody here raves about kumho, i am not gonna buy ebay tires because tire rack has them for less. now the choice is to buy the kumho ecsta hp4's or upgrade and go with the supra 712's for twenty dollars more

Read all of the reviews on thetirerack.com Tons of people have bought them so there have been like 300K miles total logged by those who have them. That will help you to decide.

Bytheway, if anybody needs some strut mounts, they have KYB's for 50 bucks each. I have bought two and they are good quality (what you would expect).
