Car Compliments!

I was getting gas at a Cumberland Farms gas station in Amherst, MA this Saturday when a girl (a quite attractive one I might add) came over and told me I had a really nice Saab, and that she drove one too

I rarely have people compliment on my car so it was nice!

What kind of compliments have you guys received?

The other day, I was helping someone at work (Blockbuster), and my car was parked right outside the window. The kid (about 18) and his really cute girlfriend kept looking at the SPG, and he eventually said, "Damn, that's a nice SPG." I was surprised to hear he knew what it was, much less liked it! Anyway, I told him it was mine, and we ended up talking cars for about 5 minutes. He knew all about SAABs, but when I asked him what he drove, he said a Jeep Grand Cheroke. Well, that's my story.

I get the gas station comments like "Nice car" once in awhile, usually from the guys who drive mini-vans.

I own the only SPG in my province, and I receive some pretty strange comments. One guys asked me, "so what's that porsche packin'? A 350 conversion?". A group of girls driving a sunfire screamed "HEY CUTIE, WE LOVE YOUR CAR. FOLLOW US" I was going somewhere though. Generally people think that my car is a porsche of some sort (944) or has a big block. Weird..

I pulled into the hockey rink at 6:30 AM for Dyllan's practice ... right behind a 9-3.


We parked across from each other and got out of the car at pretty much the same time.
I noticed he was looking at my car (as I was his).
"Nice car" I said.
"What year is yours?"
"1996."
"They just keep going, don't they?"
"Yup ... mine has 285,000+ km's on it now."

His silence was deafening!

Same thing as an Aero on your side of the ocean.

The parking ticket I got last year said that my 93 was a 99. Looks young for it's age I guess. It blushed so much that it turned red.

I was walking to class and a student in a 9-3 was driving by and i yelled sweet saab and he just thumbed up out the window on his way to freshman parking.

yeah a group of super models in a limo saw me in my car and suddenly they couldn't control themselves and I was forced to be their fun toy slave for weeks.

I pulled up next to a little TR6 (i think...one of those tiny cars) once. Getting my stuff out of the hatch, back seats were down.
"What a pretty Saab" says TR6's wife.
"Thanks"
She sees the cavernous hatch area and says
"Geez you could fit our whole car in there!!!"

I was driving the 'vert around the back streets of Finglas and got yelled at by a bunch of kids "Hey Mister! Cool car!!"

Then there's my 6 year old coming out of school with his mates: "Wow! Your dad's got a cool car!" <6 year old beams proudly...> <as does dad....>

I get a lot of compliments on my car from kids at school... most of them want to know how I have a 9-5 and i'm only 16.. but moreso how I managed to pay for it myself.. to which i usually respond "i work way too much." but man is it worth it

After I got the tinted windows I started driving around with all 4 windows down about 4 inches...ppl start peering in while you are waiting at a red light or stuck in traffic...kinda like OOOOO whats that and who's in it???!?!?!?! try it!!


Hey whitesummer, just from last weeks experience I would not suggest you reveal your age and that u drive a 95....I tell you what, the green eyed monster of jealousy never stops rearing its ugly head!!

I'll post a few pictures here because i'm not sure which forum would be most appropriate.. I took these a few days ago after our snowstorm here in New England so it's all dirty

the rims are pretty mucky but I got all four rims and four new michelin tires for only $400 so i'm happy

saving up for tint and to get my rims cleaned





and here's a picture from a while ago that my brother took with a much older camera while i hydroplaned over a huge puddle at the end of our street at 70mph... fun times!!

I am suprised that even two people have commented on my 9K, both at the petrol station. Both were in the region of "Nice rims mate, must have cost a fair bit!!!"

Hopefully i will get some better comments when i get an Aero, in the next few weeks.

I was in upstate NY last summer, at the gas pumps, when a kid in 82 camarro pulls up. He gets out and says "Nice car, bet it handles".
What a shocker.
So I asked what year his was.
Other than the girls at the marina, no one comments.

I got some interesting comments on my 9-3 ss that cost me a little money..

I pulled into the gas station here a month ago or so.. I have the optiflow intake so it sounds like a BOV .. buncha ricer types with civics and such yelled to me as i got outta my car "YO MAN .. is that TURBO?" and then while i was getting food inside.. one of the guys came in got his friends.. and was like yo guys lets go check out this guys saab turbo...

well .. unluckily for me.. i had the natural urge to .. shall we say put a little more foot pressure on the gas when i was leaving.. and .. well i definately peeled out through the intersection.. i know.. i know.. .. so i got a little ticket from the evil cop that was chilling accross the street.. cause apparently I was endangering the lives of the women and children crossing the road at 1:30 in the morning..
