Tired of winter? Need a Saab event?
Then join us for a fun and scenic drive to get out of the house during the height of winter in New York. We will motor from Saratoga Springs, passing through Greenwich, Cambridge, and New Salem. We will then follow the Battenkill river to Manchester VT for our lunch stop at Zoey’s Double Hex Diner. After lunch It’s back to Saratoga. The drive is planned to last about 3-4 hours. http://nysoc.com/events/winterfest05/index.html Ps. A few of us may go skiing the next day at Gore Mtn. http://goremtn.com |

Stephen, i live in Saratoga Springs. Actually about 2 blocks up from friendlys. I cant make the full trip. But it would be cool to stop by the friendlys and meet some of the other board members. Would that be cool with you if i just stopped by with the saab and hung out before you all headed out?
I am not sure but i might be going to lake placid that weekend to stay at the cabin with my wife. But if im not going to lae placid id love to stop by. Do any other memeber live in saratoga or the surrounding area? And do u hold these events here often? Got me excited now, i love meets lol |

ALBANY! ALBANY's for ME!
I am in the area, I may go depending on what is going on around the house. The woman is taking TWO bar exams right around that time and she will be freaking out studying... she will probably need some extra "support" as she calls it... which means basically I have to do EVERYTHING around the house and run to fetch anything she needs. |

Well hopefully I will see you there. It's a good chance to get you run "fix" during winter.

Count me in tentatively, I will have to come up from the Island, but it will be good fun. We'll see how I'm doing financially at that point.
Is the new start time reflected in the first post Stephen? Last edited by 8valvegrowl; 08-02-05 at 10:07 PM. |

Hummm I might be able to make this, finnally make one of the NYSOC meets. I will have to see closer to the day. Perhaps this girl i've meet would want to go.....
Might need a place to crash fri and/or saturday depending if i go and what makes sense to do. I will most likely still be on my studded snowtires.....would be be recommened that I swap wheels for this drive? Assuming it does not look like snow is in the forcast. Ian |

I run it with snows. So do most of the people that come. I would leave them it. It's not a super high speed event. That's what ASR is for. It's more about getting out for a little spirited driving and talking Saabs.

I wanted to extend a thank you to Stephen and Rob and the rest of the NYSOC for putting on a really fun event this weekend. While we only stayed for half of the run it was great to see everyone.
We had lunch at Zoeys double hex. That was possibly the best burger I've ever had. After lunch we went to this really cool scandinavian store "The Scandinavian Country Shop" in Manchester VT. If you ever need anything Swedish call them, 802-362-9992. I picked up a Swedish flag to wave next time I see one of you racing!!! cough, James, cough! So we broke off from the group after that and headed north to pick up a set of 16" aeros in Tunbridge VT. What a beautiful place! The previous owner of said wheels is into WWII vehicles and had a "Weasel" (tracked command vehicle?) and several command and weapons trucks. So all in all cool weekend! John, I'm psyched you got a shot of those freaky cows...That's great! -Dirk hmmm looks familiar... ![]() ![]() Last edited by Diggler; 20-02-05 at 08:28 PM. |
