There was freezing rain this morning, and my 88 900S was encased in ice. After warming it up and scraping the windows, I happened to notice that the carpet was damp (under the mats). I checked under all four mats and they are all damp, especialy under the driver's mat. I understand that water in the driver's area means heater core issues, but it was everywhere. Also, the sunroof has a water stain around it, but is neaver soaked, and I have never seen it leak. I haven't seen any definate leaks for that matter.
As far as I know, all the drains work. I can see water leaving the drains near the doors on rainy days. But I don't know where all the drains are located. So, any suggestions on what to try? Oh, and it is sitting on a level surface. |

If there is a water stain round the sunroof that sounds like the culprit. The sunroof drain holes are in all 4 corners of it - the front 2 go down the A pillars and emerge in the front wheel arches, the rear 2 go down the C pillars and come out at the side air vents. The drain tubes are roughly 1/2" in diameter so you could try feeding something, maybe wire, along the tubes and unblocking that way. Some people say to use compressed air but I'm not sure how effective that would be if they are truly plugged.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try cleaning out the sunroof drains if the car ever thaws. But why would there only be moisture on the floor? The seats are always dry.
