Exclamation Fun with the blower motor

Attention one and all!
After hours of fussing, repositioning, and much cursing ...i finally got my blower motor housing out of the car, and now i have it all apart. I have taken out every screw and clip I came across, but still, the motor won't come free of the housing. At risk of breaking something, I figured i would post here first. Is there something i missed? Or, do I just need to apply some good ol' fashioned elbow grease to get the motor out, and the fan blades, off the motor?

thanks in advance
Tristan

Hi,

The electric motor is held in by a taper fit. Spray some lubricant all around that area where the motor fits into the plastic housing. Suspend the assembly between you knees with the back of the motor on top and then tap it thru the screw hole (you said you removed it) with a hammer and thin blunt rod carefully. Or put the screw back and tap that.
It will start to budge out slowly and then all of a sudden it will just slide out.
Also you will need to dismantle the plug.

Here is a link to some info.

Pic of where you tap the bak of the moter out.

Good Luck.

Hey, thanks.
The motor slid right out, it couldn't have been more perfect.. that's why i love these forums. Now, I'm just left with getting the fan off of the motor; and boy is it stuck on there

anywho..
thanks again..
