Default 6.5 Door speaker question - opinions sought

If I am correct you can put Kenwood KFC1703 woofers in your doors. I am thinking of doing similar to JeremyR ...

However, can I find KFC1703s anywhere? Nope! It seems Kenwood don't make them anymore.

Anyway, I don't want to spend tons of money on component speakers when I won't be using the x-over or the tweeter.

Wondered what you thought of these 'pyramid' woofers - I'd be using a pair with a small amp in kick panel:

Or these pyle woofers:

I have a Pioneer DEH6400 (4x22RMS, 4x50max) to drive infinity 3.5 and 6x9s from the HU and would buy a small 2x50 amp to drive 6.5 woofers in the doors. The HU has a low pass filter so I'd only be sending 125Hz and belwo to the doors.

It's just that they seem a bit cheap to me, and you get what you pay for!

Any thoughts?

I put those pyramids in my convertible and am happy with them. They stick out about 1/4" further than the originals but don't interfere with putting the panel back on.

I don't really know if they're that good though...the way my system is set up I have little bass going through all of the speakers and rely on the JL Audio 10" and MTX amp to provide the bass

They do seem like they're fairly good quality, especially for $10!! And if you don't like em thats really not too much of a loss...

Good Luck

I ended up going with the following:

Pyramid PB440X Amp (240W but 2x60RMS) which seems to be about the same size as the 4"x10" Saab AS3 Amp $29.99

Visonik VB60 6-1/2" Midbass Drivers $49.99
