Sentronic Auto Mode (lack of) Performance

I've seen some posts on this topic, but is there anything that can improve the auto mode shift patterns? It's really lousy, imho. I had a '97 turbo with automatic, and even without the sport mode turned on, it worked better than this. And WITH sport mode on, it worked great. Don't get me wrong, I love this car so far, and it's a blast just using the manual shifting. But I don't always want to have to do that, and it's primarily my wife's car, and she will probably NEVER use the manual shift. I want my "sport mode" back! Is there anything Saab can do to rectify this?
