Yes, unless 900s without an AC are few and far between in the US. Otherwise I can check the price here. Few Norwegian 900s have an AC so I guess a used one should be fairly easy to get hold of too. But the plastic clips are often broken...

I've probably seen about 50 Saabs under the hood and have never seen this air filter. I knew it existed, and want to put one in my 8v N/A, but could never find one.

They're pretty much what all of the european cars have. Your former aircon evaporator would {when running} be wet and would have acted as a filter. They're available from third parties as well as saab.

You can also pack the area with a suitably {ie. not smelly} oiled fibre pad which is what the earlier filters were.
