Yes, unless 900s without an AC are few and far between in the US. Otherwise I can check the price here. Few Norwegian 900s have an AC so I guess a used one should be fairly easy to get hold of too. But the plastic clips are often broken...

I pulled my non functioning AC out and found the cover at an auto wreckers.

They're pretty much what all of the european cars have. Your former aircon evaporator would {when running} be wet and would have acted as a filter. They're available from third parties as well as saab.
You can also pack the area with a suitably {ie. not smelly} oiled fibre pad which is what the earlier filters were. |
