Default When will the 9-7x arrive at dealers ?

My wife's company car needs to be returned in February, and I'd like to see one of these.

Well the auto show comes to Philadelphia this February, I'll try and buy the floor model. I don't know why they wait until winter ends to roll these out.

if there is a floor model here in philly it won't be for sale. that car would belong to Saab USA. dealers won't take delivery until March/April.

i think the march-april thing has to do more with their books. if they make quarterly reports they don't want a new model like the 9-7X screwing with their reports.

just buy a touareg. it's a much better vehicle anyway. and safer.

<scratching head/> That doesn't seem to make a hell of a lot of sense. Why forego a month or two of income just to make income statements easier to read...? I've never noticed that car manufacturers favor releasing cars on the quarter. I assume that whatever the release date is (and I've heard earlier) it will have everything to do with where they are in the cycle to market.

My latest Saab magazine says, this spring. It actually sounds like they did a lot of engineering on the suspension to get rid of the old technology of the trailblazer. I can't wait to see the final product at the auto show this year. Hopefully Philly will have one there. They seem to miss a lot of show cars, because of the timing with NY.

My Bravada lease also expires in February. Talking with the folks at GMAC, they will extend my lease for up to 3 months, IF I have another vehicle ordered. Not sure who your lease is through, however you may contact the lease company and see if a similar provision is available.

What do you think of your Bravada? I always thought that it was by far the best looking (exterior anyway) of the TB clones.

As mentioned in another post, I have driven GM SUV's for over 20 years. I am partial to the "mid size" units, as I find the larger vehicles "just too big". Had a '99 Escalade and although it was a very plush ride and had a certain "status" to it, it simply was too big for my needs. Having traded in a Bravada for the Escalade, I went back to the Bravada. The fender creases I felt added a strong line to the profile and the slight fender buldges were attractive to me. The interior, although functional, was not in the Escalade class. The I6 engine is quite strong for passing, but thirsty. I typically get AWD as Michigan winters can be hazardous. I really had to struggle with this upcoming lease decision as I can buy the lease for around 16K US and this vehicle is very good at what it was designed for. However, the interior upgrades on the '05 Ranier's are wonderful and the option of the 5.3 displacement on demand V8 is a real intrigue for me. The biggest shortfall is "performance" driving and there is simply no comparison to BMW's X-drive like on their X3's. The new 9-7x is my hope to combine the improved luxury interior of the Buick and the performance characteristics more akin to the X3/5. I will know in a few months.
