The USD website has now been updated with the itinerary and groupings and the Forum is now on-line, hopefully this will give everyone a quicker and easier way to share information and discuss details about the USD.
Best Regards Matt |

wow.... nice event.
I look forward to seeing some results and pictures. This truly is an event that makes me want to tune my SAAB up more. Very intrigued to find out how the traction and handling of an 'improved' c900 compares to the newer floorpan designs. and, Richards 99T with its factory fresh suspension components. |

Full report please!
I was supposed to be going, but a combination of things has conspired against me (working last night, working tomorrow morning, this is my first day off that coincides with Mrs.FTB for weeks, lack of money (50 quid in petrol), and the fact I collected some points for my license last night Hope there are some good pics & vids from the day... Anybody got some work for a good freelance horn player who also knows a bit about cars & IT? |

Full report: my arms hurt!
Havn't seen my logs yet, but I think the max speed was ~111 for me. I'm 99% certain it has the wrong gearbox on as redline in top is supposed to be 123ish. But then is the rev counter accurate? My car is now absolutely filthy, almost out of petrol (after using over a tank and a half for 375 round trip including at least 12 laps. But what fun! Sadly a couple of car casualties. I was really looking forward to seeing the F900 in cation, but alas it wasn;t to be A few of us were worried about the noise our cars were making, but then they fired up the Comet they have there (although a few of us thought Ylee had hit some special button or something!) and that eclipsed anything we were making! |

Alas the almost new turbo on F900 lunched itself - for no reason at all, one second I had 1.4bar at somewhere near 6000rpm storming down the straigh a treat, the next nothing, no boost at all
Should have the logs up and ready for viewing by end of play tomorrow. Matt |

A great day, despite the cold and relentless rain
Already looking forward to next year's event Thanks to Mark for inviting me to drive his 9000 Carlsson on the track, and humble apologies for spinning it due to my crap driving Also thanks to Richard for a few manic laps as passenger in his 99T 8) |

Did my spin come out? I'd love to actually see what happened!
I have two humble offerings to start things off. My hands were too cold to take any more! Two rubbish ones to get things going ![]() And Ylee's patented bonnet retention mechanism. Soon to be miniaturised so suitable for wipers?

Horrendous trip back up North with badly airlocked brakes but made it okay and lo and behold brakes are a lot better.
Big thanks to Matt for organising it, no thanks to the weather man though!! Constantly saw 145+ on the back staight, couldn't see much out of the windscreen as the wipers didn't have the power to go back down at 145!! Big kudos the the new Toyo Proxy T1R's even crossing over rivers on the back straight flat out they didn't lose grip, 4 wheel drifts on some of the fast bends with WOT all very controllable...and I thought when Matthew had the back end step out it nearly came back in but the spin was quite spectacular |

Eric, I attempted to read your post on the Saabnet Performance BB and it was removed before I could read it. There was also a post about the 79-80 dual vent hoods for the classic 900s that disappeared.
Any idea what made Scott P. delete these posts? Anyways, Eric, please re-post here. thanks, Jon jon1.. |

No idea mate...
Anyways, here go the preliminary results of the day: Eric Van Spelde- Max Speed=142.3, Max Lateral G- 0.87 (Moist Track) Dave Reynolds- Max Speed=144.52, Max Lateral G- 0.75 (Very Wet Track) Ylee Coyote - Max Speed = 153.2, Max Lateral G - 0.47 (Very Wet Track) Andy Aero - Max Speed = 151.54, Max Lateral G - 0.54 (Wet Track) Ian Billet - Max Speed = 137.55, Max Lateral G - 0.51 (Wet Track) Nutcase - Max Speed = 113.01, Max Lateral G - 0.61 (Wet Track) Please note, that my car was driven by Noble works driver Dave Basely, who sadly had to leave early which meant he couldn't play 'Stig' for other entrants would they have wished so. Also, Dave Reynolds is a TVR Tasmin Challenge contestant, which might indicate he's a bit handy at the wheel too Conditions ranged from wet ('moist' is a bit of an understatement) in the morning to heavy rain showers with big puddles of standing water early afternoon. In the meantime Nutcase found higher lateral g peaks for several cars on the datalogs that are online so far (although not as high as Saabine's or Dave Reynolds' 9000 Aero's scores). So we'll have to wait a bit more for definite results. Eric PS Anyone thinking of entering their car c.q. spectating at next year's event, please see our forum at www.ultimatesaabday.com (hope this is OK with the moderators). We're discussing plans for 2005 and the more input, the better. |
