in car MP3 player

i have been trying to find out how to connect my MP3 player to my SAAB headunit and found this (in car modulator) box that connects to the antenna on the radio and connects the MP3 player or CD changer to it then send the signal to the radio as a radio frequency, check it out it also lets you connect non standard CD changers to the SAAB headunit

Would it work with an iPod? I am going to get an iPod sometime soon, and I really want to hook it up to my stock headunit in my '98 900SE. Let me know if that would work!

FM Mods work, they just sound like poop. Best bet would be to get a new head unit with AUX input that you could plug your MP3 player into.

Alpine is the only way to go. Model will depend on how much wattage you want, MP3 capabilities, display, etc. Head over to www.crutchfield.com and compare the different head units they have.

Don't look at anything else. I have compared all the major brands, and Alpine always comes out on top.

I have to rave about my Duo Dx mp3 player. It's shaped like a cassette and plays in cassette players and responds to tape player functions as well as being a portable stand alone unit with a headphone jack. It solved my auto audio concerns and then some.

There's one big reason I'd consider their decks now: they're coming out with some that can directly control an iPod and display the information on their screens. For anyone that's thinking of getting an iTrip, they work okay, but finding a good unused station in a big city can be nearly impossible, and the sound quality is somewhat less than you get with a cassette adaptor. I don't use mine regularly anymore, but it's better than nothing.

yeah ive seen that ipod thing theyre coming out with.. until someone comes out with the program that Apple/BMW collaborated on, its not worth it to me. Id stick with a Nakamichi head unit for aftermarket.. not only is it a great headunit but it matches the rest of the car... unlike the ugly alpine units.
