Ok its been a while but I need a big solid family type saloon and I am goin back toa c900.
I'm gonna take a look at a 1991 900S 2moro nite, but I need to get the spec right in my head. it has electric mirrors, windows (that work) and sunroof, remote central locking alarm.... what else should be there. What spec is that engine bhp-wise. thanks for any help, I'm coming back to the party lads ![]() my old 4 door |

The '91 900S has a 2118cc (2.1 ltr) engine
140hp @ 6000 rpm 133 lb-ft of torque @ 3000 rpm I get about oh.. 27mpg. |

I'm afraid the 2.1 was never available in the UK or Ireland, in fact I dont think it was available outside of your continent Mag-x. And just to be more annoying, a gallon in the US is a different size to a gallon in the rest of the world

Oh ... well... God bless the USA, and what not then.
Sorry to hear that. |

It should be exactly the same as a T16 but with no intercooler, APC or boost gauge. It will have the Mitsubishi turbo and Lucas system. There's some info on the Aero LPT here. The engine may well be in better condition than an FPT as it is less likely to have been driven hard. They are certainly not slow, and the turbo comes in nice and early, but it runs out of puff after about 4000 RPM compared to an FPT. They have a good potential for tuning, and with a few minor mods, ie intercooler and APC or MBC, can easily put out the same or more power as a T16S.

No, it was standard on the FPT but optional on LPT's.

ok guys, I got some more details.
Red three door(what reds were available in 91), very clean unmarked bodywork (we'll see) alloys (what wheels would this have had!!) 105K on the clock, 2 years NCT (Irish MOTs last 2 years) so basics all work. Grey velour interior - again unmarked he says, 1 small headlining "droop" he says.... electric windows, mirrors and sunroof all operate. No ABS, remote central locking - does this give any trouble. Any specific tests for an LPT engine - it'll be warm when we meet him unfortunatly...anyway to check the turbo condition?? asking price 2000 euro, approx 1350 sterling!!! |
