Have you seen Memento? I kept thinking of the plot weeks after seeing it....

I like a lot the first two Godfathers, despite all the dialogues in Sicilian. Don't think that being Italian like me is of any help in understanding that movie, because Sicilian and Italian are pretty far as languages. I'd say more distant than Spanish and Italian.

James bond is cool too 8)

Spaghetti Westerns - start with "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" trilogy and move onto "Once Upon a Time in the West" ... there are a thousand other good, bad and ugly that you can dip into after that

I second that.. and any films with Morricone scores. The gunfight in For A Few Dollars more is my favourite part of any film ever.

Can you recommend me any good Spaghetti Westerns other than the Leone ones?

Real Genius (Val Kilmer's best work in my book)
Monster in a Box (Spaulding Gray's (RIP) best filmed work IMO)
Fear of a Black Hat (the Spinal Tap of rap - but way funnier)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (duh)
Europa Europa (so I don't look like a complete dunce

You mean the long face to face to face to face to face cemetery scene? Yeah, that's awesome. I tried getting my wife into the genre, but she fell asleep just before "that best bit ... and damn well went and missed it" - Grrr. Ho hum! The opening scenes of "Once Upon a Time in the West" are just breath-taking.

Other Spag's? Erm ... Sergio Corbucci's (possibly best known for "Django")? Glancario Baldenello's (... for "This Man Can't Die")?

Apart from Spaghetti Westerns, I also like the 'Dirty Harry' films ops:
For other weirdness ...

Aguirre, Wrath of God
Vampires in Venice
Harware
Dust Devil
Lifeforce
Ghosts of the Civil Dead

... just a few kicking about near my video & DVD players ...

Classic horror from the 1910s/1920s?

The Cabinet of Dr Caligari
The Golem
The Phantom Carriage

... oh yeah, dig out as many Laurel & Hardy as you can. There's just no getting bored of Ollie bending over and his trousers ripping - gets me every time
