Found a rare 1986 Flat Front C900 vert for sale...

I drive past one every day on my way too and from work here in Rhode Island.

Its in someone's driveway with a for sale sign.

I havnt taken a closer look at it, so I dont know what year it is or what engine, how many miles etc.

It looks pre-facelift from a distance though.

If anyone is interested, let me know, and I'll take a closer look and jot down the phone number, etc.

The body didnt look rusted at all, but I didnt get particularly close.

Ok. Here goes..


1986 Saab 900 Convertible
82k miles


The following is according to the seller, as the car was not there when I stopped by so I couldn't look for myself:

Very little to no body rust
Supposedly runs very well.
Radio does not work
Electric roof works but is a little slow.

According to the woman I talked to the 1986 verts were quite rare, so I did some searching on it, and this is what I came up with:

"The 900 convertible was introduced in 1987, the same year the 900 received its sloped nose new front grille, new headlamps and revised bumpers. Interestingly, the first 400 convertibles were flat front and sold as 1986 models. All were sold in the US."

So apparently this is one of the "rare" flat fronted Saab 900 Convertibles.

Funny thing is, although I have driven past it every day for a few weeks, I only barely remember it being red. I could be wrong though.
