Some time ago I advised that HBOS was starting up a new car insurance arm to run alongside E-Sure. E-Sure would continue to insure lower risk drivers while First Alternative would cover higher risk drivers.

The company has now been open for a few months and today we've been told that a driver managed to save £1300 by switching from Norwich Union. I guess they didn't quote him happy

Every one and again I look around for cheap insurance, especially at renewal time. And for me I have never found anyone cheaper than Tesco. Lots of people will do a similar price (esure et al.) but nobody cheaper yet
