First off, im usually a 900 guy but ive been looking at an '88 manual rose quartz 9000 turbo. Its in very nice condition and alot of work has been done on it (seller is a tech at saab dealer.) Hes selling for 1500 us dollars which is a good price for the condition. The only problem is the transmition. He rebuilt it when it started to fail, but it still sometimes makes a little noise. Will the transmition need more major work? Should i buy the car and not worry about the tranny? How much would a refurbed transmition cost?

If i run into problems would rebuilding the tranny again be more cost effective?, assuming now that most of the worn parts are new , so there is probably less to replace this time around.
