I am not sure but I would like to crank mine up as well
I presume you guys are refering to a manual control boost valve (ie: doing away with the apc).
I fitted one to my T16S because the acuator rod was seized to the nut, thus not being able to turn up the boost. I don`t know enough about the apc box mods which can be done so i bought a valve from Abbott.
I set mine up by using the boost gauge in the car, setting it just inside the red. Improved it no end,`cos before it was only halfway into the orange. Don`t know what sort of power i`m running but it eats my old dears 9-5 2.3 eco for breakfast!!
Tevid,
if your APC is in perfect condition, i.e. it works OK with none of the problems you can hear about in this forum, then the most effective way to increase power in your 900 Turbo is to modify the APC computer.
You can find lots of info on the subject if you use the "search" function.
APC can be tweaked to give 30-40 reliable extra horsepower without other modifications necessery (apart from setting up the ignition and injection properly).
And while with no mods of other kind, the APC won't be able to maintain that kind of maximum output, your overall performance wii be much better. And if you so choose, start modifyinf the injection and you can extract a lot of extra power just tweaking the original APC box.
Do not simply set the basic boost much higher by shortening the wastegate actuator arm as this is potentially dangerous for the engine. Tweak the APC and you get the power...
