Exclamation Radio problems

I bought my 2004 Saab 9-3 Aero two days ago and have been having some problems. My radio hasn't worked since I got it. I pulled fuse for radio which was blown, replaced it and the accessories fuse (because it was missing). Both fuses blew immediately when replacing which knocked out my SID. I then unhooked negative battery terminal for approx. 20 mins. replaced fuses then reconnected battery. SID now works but still no radio or clicking sounds from turn signals. Checked Amp fuses, they were fine, now I have pulled the amp under the drivers seat and it was very corroded. Not sure what to do from here??? Can anyone help??? THANK YOU!!!

It sounds like you need a new AMP 1 which is a known problem. Only $500-$600 if IIRC. And since your car has the fiber-optic system, you just can't replace AMP 1 with a regular amplifier. Some loop the fiber optic cable at the AMP, but then you don't have any bass from the door speakers.

At this point most either look for used amps, contact saabradio.com for repairs, or replace the head unit and amplifier... Ron
