- No common illness with the 9-3's besides rattles. Some are experiencing problem with this and that, but most of these problems have not been classified as common. The 2004's are said to have less rattles. Here is a link to a thread which posts the most common problems people are experiencing!

http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22541

- If the car you are looking at has an automatic transmission, then you might experience some stalling every once in a while. A software upgrade can resolve this problem, if it hasnt already been done.

- Tuning wise: there isnt much aftermarket products available for the 9-3ss as it has been introduced only about a year ago (2003). Here is a website for and ECU software upgrade by BSR; a repuatable tuning company. You can purchase it from Parts for Saabs at:

EDIT: Forgot the WARM welcome

Welcome M4Gunner, I agree with SS, mostly rattles althoug not everyone has them. Most glitches are software related and can usually be fixed quite easily. There are no consistent mechanical problems.

Tuning specialists are Abbott, BSR, Nordic and soon Hirsch, all have been modding Saabs for years. Like SS said there is not much for the SS yet. Best bang for your buck would be the BSR PPC. Cheers
