Default Oil pan with Sump Door.

http://www.abcsalesllc.com/

I found this browsing around google. Just curious if anyone owns one and if you think it's a wise idea. I just got my '01 about 1-1/2 weeks ago after my 03 SS died. And I plan to be neurotic to an extent with the care of my '01.

It's a no on the sump door. I'm all about that skid plate though.

I was going to do it because I'm anal retentive, but I didn't. Finally decided that I'd just drop the pan again when I need to. I did talk to the guy... it has an o-ring that seals tight. He uses one, has never had any leaks.

I have installed them on my Viggen and Aero. They have been in use on both cars for about 5 years with great results, especially with the 95 Aero. Very high quality fabrication and a fair price. Pretty innovative design.Unfortunately the owner Bobby Bright died and the business was bought by a dealer in Iowa(?). Still available.

There is nothing wrong with a sump door unless it's engineered in a bad way. I have read that few have installed these with zero issues. Hell, my 911 has one and it's oem. But is it worth it, I mean you will be removing the old which will then allow you to clean the sump and unless your car is sludged, well.....

Sump door pans can be sourced from a guy in Indianapolis, IN. Good source for used parts too.
