a bit unrelated..... but yeah this is the company that sent Saab under, got a huge bailout at the same time and is now on the path to bankruptcy once again. Welcome to the Obama owned GM. Just a shining star of a company... I really want to see them finally pay the price for their terrible business practices.

As much as some people would like to see them fail, I don't believe that would be in our best interest economically to not help them. GM needs to be reconstructed with the right people and stick to a budget. They haven't learned from their mistakes so of course they're going to fail.

On a very personal level, I have some deep wounds regarding Ford and their business practices and swore I would never own another. I have to admit that the pep talk by the new Ford CEO was inspiring regarding not introducing a car to the market before the bugs were worked out, and how his door was open to the staff to learn about and fixing flaws.

Clarkson and May mentioned a few times that Saab would not take direction and was doing things (like the more expensive GPS), despite GM objections. When a company is failing and the economy is weak how much of a renegade can you afford to be?

Ford would not honor my extended warranty on my Escort, "any failure gasket related is not covered by the extended warranty", but what on a car does not have a gasket? In this case it was a warped intake manifold.

GM? In the 5 years of Corvette ownership I never had to use the extended warranty. The car was dead reliable but you did need to keep the battery on trickle charge during the snow season. It's pretty hard to get pizzed at that. How is their "bread and butter" low and mid range product though?

You can't (I mean, you can, but it wouldn't be appropriate for you to do so) blame the government, let alone the President, for doing the right thing.

If there is any blame to be laid at anyone's feet, then lay it at the feet of those who we all know are the ones obviously in the wrong, i.e., GM, as is unavoidably evident by their actions.

Geez, do you want to go back and argue the evils of Lend Lease and the Marshall Plan? With the US fast becoming a third world country it's odd that that many of the recipients we were "trying to control" now in essence own us.

No, it's really just a matter of clarifying just whom it is at fault here.

Sure, the government provides an easy scapegoat, yet those of us that know know that it is the big businesses/their lobbyists that both authored and bribed the legislation through that allowed the en masse outsourcing of numerous of our both proprietary and open source technologies to these third-world countries that now hold I.O.U.'s for much of the U.S. GDP all for the sake of saving a buck or two, but blaming the government for doing right by these companies because they've done wrong with the right done to them is, well, wrong.



Oh, and no she isn't, at least not a 'cow' anyway and 'dirty', well, is a subjective term, lol.
