900 vs Honda Insight: which to keep, which to sell?

He's scared of it costing him a lot of money...It's a 900 S, those motors are so solid, and with it being a base model, there's nothing to break!
 Even better that it's a 5-speed with a new clutch!

Batteries for the Insight are cheap, about 1-2 grand from an aftermarket rebuilder. I'm considering buying one to complement my c900.
