Intermittent Warning Lights

Twice during the past week my wife has started the car and, once she put the car in reverse, she got the ABS and red exclamation point warning lights. No other lights and the car was still "running" fine. It happened this morning. I went out to see the car, it was running fine, but those lights were on. As with the previous occurrence, turning the car off and then back on reset the lights and they did not come on at all when putting the car in gear or driving. I know that sometimes the ABS light can be indicative of a failing ABS unit. However, is it usual for it to be reset and not come on? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what could cause this? A short, pinched wire, failing part?

No I think its the ABS starting to go, it should become more regular as it gets worse. If the light is on understand you may not have ABS and you would need to brake in emergencies as if you did not have ABS.
sometimes the speedo stops working as well, when the light is on do you know if the speedo works?

The speedo works when the light is on. I opened up the trunk wiring tube again because I was having weird park sensor stuff and found two snapped wires and two bare wires. I replaced all of them with sections of new wire. Do you think the ABS light could be related? Hasn't come on since? I'm hoping it's not the ABS unit. They're so expensive. Also, haven't needed to personally modulate brakes as, upon turning off and restarting, the light is normal and goes off with everything else after five seconds.

I would bet you found it...
broken wires can lead to anything.
