Default Clicking noise

I have a 2005 Saab 9-3 Linear Sedan 2.0t. When I turn the control from cold air to hot air, I hear a clicking noise. Hot air and cold air both work, but I hear a clicking each time I turn the knob.

Is this something I can do by myself or do I need to take it to a car shop?
By the way, this is my first Saab and I love it.

Do you hear this noise every time you press the recirculation button?

Mine does this too. I think its actually the recirculation valve adjusting the amount of cold (outside vent) vs. hot (heater core) air entering the blower fan. Mine has done this since I owned the car, and has never had an issue.

If it's not loud and the heater/cooler modes are switching properly I wouldn't worry too much.

Still sounds pretty bad though. If it's an easy/inexpensive fix I wouldn't mind trying it on mine.

Does yours make the sound every time you press the recirculation button?

I can't seem to post links on this forum (my post count is prob to few), but if you search on youtube for "saab warning for potential buyers" (without the quotes), you will see an example of a broken recirculation motor. Is this the noise you're hearing?

Sorry for the late response. My noise is slower in cadence, and only sounds about five times before it stops. It happens when I switch from medium/hot to extreme cold. Once I cross the 3/4 mark towards extreme cold it makes five clicks or so. The one in the video sounds like a machine gun; mine sounds like a semi-automatic. It is coming from just to the right of the gas pedal.

It does not happen when I push recirculate.

As for the video, people spend $5k more on a car than a Saturn and they expect it not to be a car anymore. No matter how expensive, a car is a piece of machinery that will make noises. Not to get off topic.
