Default Programming key FOB?

Hey guys my local dealer just got a shipment of key fobs. I bought the key for $91 and then asked if they can program it and they want another $115 is there anyway i can do it myself or would trying to find an Indy be better?

Two years ago the Saab dealer told me my key (one of two) could not be reprogrammed b/c it was damaged. Just 2 weeks ago I sent my damaged key for repair to ClearCom Technologies in UT for repair. They informed me the key was still transmitting and nothing needs to be repaired, just needs re-programming.

ClearCom sent the key back with paid shipping (which is very generous). They wrote a letter to give to the Dealer saying this just needs to be reprogrammed. I am taking the key tomorrow morning and seeing what the deal was..the guy that told me it was damaged doesn't work there anymore.

In essence, **** the dealers.

For reference, my local Saab-only dealership is selling the key fob for same price you paid ($91). I asked about programming it and they quoted me $45.

I paid $45 as well for programming alone.

I was warned I'd have to pay regardless if programming worked or didn't work since it takes 20 - 30minutes to go through the whole cycle and verify.

Fortunately it worked the first time.

Now that said, the dealer is just hosing you at $115.

They can charge whatever they want, but you can also go wherever you want as well. Look for a dealer (or indy w/ Tech II) that will charge you nearer $50.

Just got back from dealer and they re programmed the key ($59.95)..the same key the dickhead two years back said was damaged and I needed a new one. And when I asked for a SAI Valve a few days ago the parts guy said they indeed did have some available. I go today and magically another parts guy at the counter says they are on back order..

Seriously screw these guys in the ahole with a razor edged bat.
