Proper mounting location for foglights..

Hello,
I am wondering where is the proper mounting location for foglights on a '89 SAAB 900. Recently I just screwed the brackets into the bumper, but they are not very secure, and move easily. There does not seem to be a place under the bumper where the foglights are supposed to be mounted, even though my car was pre-wired for them. Any ideas on a better place to mount them???

Thanks for the diagrams Simon, they helped alot. Now all I need to do is go to a junkyard to find a foglight button, so I can get my AC button back. =)

If you want to mount fog lamps above the front bumper (ie, in front of the grille) then there's threaded inserts at the back of the aluminium girder which forms the bumper's main structure. Any aftermarket lamps should easily bolt securely onto those.
