Default Stupid, annoying, quit-fighting-me-and-work power antenna

I have been fighting with my power antenna for an hour and a half now, and I QUIT!! I hate it!!

I finally got the antenna motor out of the car to take it apart and get the broken tail out and any possible broken teeth. Put it all back together. Tried the "feed" method with the radio on/off, blah, blah, blah...it didn't work.

I took the motor BACK out again and hand fed the antenna in trying to see what wasn't working...everything works correctly...EXCEPT that the antenna tail pops out of the little housing that it coils into and then jams. No matter how I tried, it wouldn't work.

I've read all the posts on here, and on just about every Saab site on the web, and I GIVE UP...what's the trick??

I am about to relegate myself to the fact that I will always have a 1/2 up antenna that doesn't move...

I can't answer your question since I spent 2 hours trying to rassle mine out. It just wont budge I took of the locking nut and have tried everything and I'll I got for my trouble is a bloody hand.

However, here comes my question. I saw yesterday a saab 900 driving next to me on the highway. It had a small rubber antenna mast similar to what is found on most 01 and later euro cars (barely 4 inches tall). Anyone know where these can be found. I would like to trash my whole motorized antenna system.

Really, Ted?
Strange. Are you sure the motor went back together properly?? There's no way it should pop loose if it is. That's really wierd.

Those small aerials that you are talking about, Grover, are also on the 9-3's. That's thier antenna for Onstar.
Here's one though. $7.00!!!
